I owned an LG1 in the mid sixties to early 70's, it got stolen...
Bought a "better" guitar in meantime... but always hankered after
the kind of sound and character the LG1 had. I found one in an ad local rag and visited it, and bought it... (1977 or so.. ) it wasn't then and would never be same as my original, which I had rebridged... replaced tuner... removed the heavy picguard altogether... but held onto the now ugly duckling... and just recently after mothballed nearly 26 years, brought it out...
bought some bridge pins and a saddle and light bronze Dadarrio
strings and no particular care in putting back together...
now the ugly duckling is my favorite... I can get more varied tonality and moods out this LG1 than the more expensive, larger replacement I had bought(which IS the better guitar, just that I enjoy the LG1 more)...From archives available I have determined
mine was made in 1963. LG1, for those who don't HAVE to be famous.

[...] You know, it was the band at the church my wife and I used to attend in Michigan that kept me coming back, Sunday after Sunday, and I believe that God used my love for music to start my relationship with Jesus… So, a bit of prayer and a little time have helped me get over the initial pangs of jealousy. In fact, now that it’s in Tennessee (and will live about 1 mile away) I’ll have an opportunity to witness the new adventures of an old Gibson in the ‘good hands’ of my brother. [...]
